About Us
Bacchus Hill Winery’s Cellar Door opened for business on the 5th January 2006.
Our magnificent location has picture postcard views of the Brisbane Ranges, the Macedon Ranges, the tapestry of the local market gardens and orchards, as well as the Bacchus Marsh valley.
Our extensive range of wines and moderate prices makes us an irresistible place to visit.
Our white wines are showing great promise. They are fresh crisp wines, which will be enjoyed more for their aromas and flavours than their alcohol content.
Our Cool Climate Reds are high in flavour, character, and have a deep colour intensity. Of our Cabernet Sauvignon, James Halliday, said it is a "massively powerful and extremely rustic ... striking wine".
Our 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon won the 2008 International Cool Climate Wine Show for the Best estate made and bottled red.
Our Inaugural 2005 Shiraz won a Silver medal at the Ballarat Wine Show in 2006, and our 2006 Shiraz is already winning awards. Particularly it has won Gold at both the 2008 Cowra Wine Show and the National Cool Climate Wine Show in Bathurst and it has taken out 4 trophies at the 2008 Ballarat Wine Show.
We are immensely proud of our reds. Our Pinot Noir and Merlot are showing great potential and we look forward to bigger and better things to come.
Our Cellar Door is open on weekends, and there is a choice of Cheese Platters incorporating our home made provender products, Hot soups and crusty as well as cakes, gelati and coffee.
We look forward to sharing our unique vineyard, winery and cellar door experience, with you over the coming months and years.
