Bacchus, the Roman god of Wine, discovered the
culture of the vine and the method of extracting its precious nectar
for man's gratification. We are happy to
continue that tradition with love, skill and passion.
Our vineyard islocated in the cool climate
wine making region of Sunbury. It is set high on the hills overlooking the
township of Bacchus Marsh. Our vines are hand pruned and our grapes are hand picked. They are grown on ancient, high level river terraces and gully
alluvium, resulting in wines
of great character and complexity.
We have an extensive range of wine styles including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir-Merlot, Fragoletto, Nebbiolo, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Semillon, Lawson's Patch Rose, Sauvignon Blanc- Semillon, Semillon Demi-Sec. We also have our own fortified Muscat and Fragola and Sparkling Wines.
For your special occasions, Le Repaire de
Bacchus with its picturesque scenery, provides a spectacular
setting for Romantic Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthdays or other
celebrations for up
to 150 guests.
The Sunbury Wine Region
The closest wineries are to be found in the Sunbury Wine Region, west of Melbourne. The Region takes in the areas of Bacchus Marsh, Melton, Rockbank, and of course Sunbury.
Bacchus Hill Winery is proud to be part of the Sunbury Wine Region which has a long history stretching back to the 1800's
We are close enough to Melbourne that it is only a short drive for most people to enjoy the picturesque scenery, a chat with the winemaker, and learn more on how the grape is grown in the vineyard and the wine is crafted in the cellar.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for wine tasting.
Friday and Saturday Lunch from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm
Friday and Saturday Dinner from 6:30 pm
Sunday Lunch from 12:00 noon to 4:30 pm.
Wine tastings any other time, by appointment.
